This participation aims to boost the state’s presence on a global scale while driving job creation and capital investment.

Alabama is preparing to showcase its burgeoning aerospace industry at the 2025 Paris Air Show, set to commence on June 16, 2025, at Paris-Le Bourget Airport. The event is recognized as the premier business exposition for the aerospace industry, making it a critical venue for networking and business development.

The Alabama delegation will be led by Commerce Secretary Ellen McNair and will consist of economic development professionals, company officials, and community leaders from numerous regions across the state. Notable representatives are expected from Huntsville/Decatur, the Mobile area, the Birmingham region, Montgomery, and the Auburn/Opelika areas. Additionally, significant presence from Auburn University, the University of Alabama in Huntsville, and the Alabama Community College System is also anticipated.

Supporting the delegation on-site will be key political figures, including Liz Filmore, Chief of Staff to Governor Kay Ivey, U.S. Senator Katie Britt, U.S. Representative Dale Strong, and U.S. Representative Mike Rogers. Their involvement will help underscore the state’s commitment to fostering aerospace development and attracting new opportunities.

The trip is aimed at renewing relationships with existing industry leaders while establishing new connections for future growth projects. Bob Smith, Assistant Director of the Commerce’s Business Development Division, highlighted the importance of the event in achieving these goals. Over the past ten years, Alabama has successfully attracted over $4 billion in new capital investment and secured over 10,000 job commitments within the aerospace sector.

The Paris Air Show has historically served as a launchpad for significant business growth. Past discussions during international air shows have led to fruitful projects with companies like GE Aerospace and GKN Aerospace, highlighting the potential for new agreements at this year’s event. Several aerospace and defense firms from Alabama will also have their presence felt at this major exhibition.

Among the Alabama firms showcasing their products will be SEA Wire and Cable and Alabama Aerospace, both of which will exhibit at the “Made in Alabama” booth within the U.S. Pavilion. SEA Wire and Cable specializes in providing products for both military and commercial aviation, while Alabama Aerospace focuses on fasteners and electromechanical components required for various aerospace applications.

An additional emphasis on the show’s significance comes from Christina Stimpson, Chief Officer of Commerce’s Office of Global Business, who suggests that the air show serves as a critical platform for showcasing Alabama’s innovation and expertise in the aerospace field. Each participating member, including Senior Project Manager Veronica Crock and Chief External Affairs Officer Stefania Jones, aims to connect with foreign buyers to bolster Alabama’s presence in the global market.

As the 2025 Paris Air Show approaches, the Alabama delegation is set to engage with key industry stakeholders, strengthen existing business ties, and open the door to innovative aerospace developments in the state. This significant event is not only an opportunity for Alabama to promote its aerospace capabilities but also a crucial step in sustaining momentum for job creation and economic growth.
