Scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the event will take place at More Than Conquers Faith Church, located at 1327 Dennison Avenue SW in Birmingham. The rally will showcase performances from school bands representing A.H. Parker, G.W. Carver, Huffman, Jackson Olin, Ramsay, Wenonah, and Woodlawn high schools. In addition to musical entertainment, attendees can enjoy various vendors, speeches from state and city leaders, a live DJ, free food, inflatables, and giveaways including book bags and other school supplies.

On the same day, the Lane Harper Power of Life Foundation will be conducting a backpack giveaway from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 3020 Hawkins Lane in Fultondale. Participants are encouraged to enter from Central Avenue and will be treated to music, food, and additional giveaways.

Further supporting the community, the Rhema Christian Center will host a back-to-school giveaway at Cleburne County High School on July 19 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This event will provide free backpacks and school supplies for students, as well as supplies for teachers, free haircuts for children aged 5-17, games, bouncy houses, and food trucks.

Additionally, the Alpha Phi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. will hold a back-to-school giveaway on July 19 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Bessemer Recreation Center, located at 100 14th Street. Supplies will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Looking ahead, Little Hands Serving Hearts will organize a distribution day for its backpack giveaway on July 26 from 11 a.m. to noon at the MLK Recreation Center pavilion. Another important upcoming event is the “Back 2 School Bash”, hosted by the Woodlawn Alumni Association on August 2 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Woodlawn High School, located at 5620 1st Avenue North. This bash will offer free backpacks and school supplies for grades K-12, haircuts, testing and medical exams, resource stations, games, music, and food.

On the same day, Jalon Moore will host his fifth annual “Block Party” from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Ballin Fast Gym, located at 4412 9th Avenue in Birmingham. This community event will feature free backpacks and school supplies, haircuts, personal growth educators, free food, a DJ booth, and bouncy houses, all at no charge to participants.
