Birmingham Celebrates Black-Owned Luxury Nail Spa: Haven Fabulash Nails
Hey there, Birmingham! Exciting things are happening downtown, and we’re here to fill you in. What began as a simple hobby has blossomed into a flourishing venture for the remarkable Haven Moore, the brain behind Haven Fabulash Nails, the only luxury nail and spa owned by a Black entrepreneur in the area. With an array of treatments from chic manicures to indulgent pedicures, Haven is all about bringing a bit of luxury to every customer’s experience. “It’s time for Black women to experience the highest level of indulgence, too,” she says, filling a unique niche in Birmingham’s beauty scene.
Getting to Know Haven Moore
At just 30 years old, Haven embraces her entrepreneurial spirit like no other. Not only is she steering her luxury nail spa, but she also runs two more ventures—Opulence Interior Designs and H&H Vivid Colors. “Opulence allows me to breathe life into spaces, which is incredibly fulfilling,” she shares enthusiastically. If you’re looking for some sweet beauty products, check out her cosmetic line that she started back in 2018, which has been designed with her daughter in mind.
Birmingham is Haven’s home, proudly raised in the Fountain Heights and Pratt City communities. She recalls the early days, “I attended school in that area and moved to Pratt City around the eighth-grade.” Like many young dreamers, Haven started her journey in high school, where she discovered a passion for nails while pursuing other interests like hairstyling. Can you believe she stumbled upon nails because all the hair classes were booked? “I was determined to make the best out of the nail application class,” she says with a smile.
Mastering The Craft
As she honed her skills, she was fortunate enough to have a supportive teacher, Patrice Sanders Marsh, who gave her personalized guidance. “She truly believed in my potential, even outside of class,” Moore says, recalling times when her mentor sent her practice resources to improve her technique. With personal dedication and discipline, Moore learned exactly how to balance academics, leisure, and personal life—and it’s paying off!
Moore launched Haven Fabulash Nails last year and is already making waves. “The nail spa also hosts classes and workshops where we empower others and love what we do,” she explains. And speaking of empowerment, Moore has initiated a week-long program called Camp Haven where young girls, aged 10 to 14, dive into the world of nails—a fantastic way to inspire the next generation! “We’ve held two camps already, and the response has been amazing,” she says excitedly.
A Bright Future Ahead
It’s not surprising that Haven is all about passing on wisdom. Her inspiration comes from her hardworking mother, Lisa Hunter. “She always worked her nine-to-five but had side hustles – that diligent work ethic spoke volumes to me,” Moore reflects. “It’s a legacy I wish to pass down to my daughter, ensuring she sees the value of hard work.”
Looking ahead, Haven sets proud, ambitious dreams. “In five years, I imagine Haven Fabulash Nails expanding through franchises and Camp Haven reaching even more girls,” she says. With a heart for service, she wants to amplify her interior design business and make H&H Vivid Colors a household name in the beauty world. “My biggest dream is to keep empowering others and build a legacy my daughter will be proud of,” she adds, beaming with a sense of purpose.
