Birmingham Woman Found Dead, Man Charged with Capital Murder

Birmingham police have charged a 35-year-old man, Jamarcus Liray Olive, with capital murder following the shooting death of 34-year-old Andreika Robinson. Authorities discovered Robinson’s body early Tuesday morning outside her home on Redstone Drive in the Killough Springs area.

Robinson was found unresponsive in her driveway by a neighbor who contacted the police at approximately 6:10 a.m. Fire crews arrived shortly after but pronounced Robinson dead at 7:10 a.m. According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, the cause of death was confirmed as a gunshot wound.

Investigation and Arrest

The Birmingham Police Department’s Crime Reduction Team took swift action, apprehending Olive about eight hours after the incident, around 2 p.m. on the same day. Olive is currently being held without bond at the Jefferson County Jail on the capital murder charge. Initial investigations indicate that Robinson was shot while inside her vehicle before being found in her driveway.
