New Coworking Offices to Boost “Avonwood” Commercial District

Avonwood’s Transformation

In a spectacular new development announcement, Birmingham’s rising commercial district, “Avonwood”, is set to foster even more local economic growth with the addition of a unique new coworking space. Named The Offices, the project is masterminded by renowned local developers Phil Amthor and Jeremy Erdreich.

The workspace is currently under development at the juncture of 5th Ave S and 45th Street, in the vicinity of the popular Jones Valley Trail. The evolving Avonwood region, a blend of Avondale and Crestwood, adds to the charm of the city.

Tailored for Modern Business Needs

Recognizing the rising demand for accessible and private coworking spaces, Amthor acknowledges that “flexible, convenient private coworking offices are growing in demand. We see terrific interest in turnkey work spaces, with one simple monthly payment covering furniture, high-speed internet, and printing that are closer to neighborhoods and not in the CBD but also still convenient to nearby restaurants, bars, and greenspace.”

With The Offices, entrepreneurs and small businesses can look forward to avail themselves of:

  • 9 private offices
  • 2 office suites
  • A lounge
  • Conference space
  • Onsite parking

Creating an Atmosphere to Boost Productivity

Amthor and Erdreich, both architects, have made active considerations to create a workspace specifically tailored for the new-age professionals. Among the workspace’s thoughtful design elements, such as its high ceilings and modern finish, remains its most distinctive alluring factor—a large common lounge overlooked by a magnificent, century-old Magnolia tree.

Further enhancing the workspace’s aesthetics are the private offices designed to let in natural light and the various indoor and outdoor community areas built for encouraging cross-collaboration amongst tenants. Expressing hope in this unique design, Erdreich notes, “We wanted to create a sophisticated yet relaxed environment. Our distinct design has already attracted entrepreneurs and small businesses looking to have their own office while being able to invite in clients or pop out into Avondale for lunch.”

Opening Soon

The project, financed by River Bank and Trust and constructed by Dawson Building Company, has a number of its private offices already up for lease. Its completion and opening are expected to occur in early autumn 2024.
