Birmingham To Witness A Celebration of Multiculturalism and Womanhood

The atmosphere at Birmingham’s Avondale Park is set to come alive today with the Women Under Construction Network’s (WUCN) ‘Freedom Friday in the Park’. This monthly multicultural initiative targeted at women, which runs from 5:30 to 7 pm, is the first of its kind in the city and is designed to help participants relieve work/life stress, enhance their physical and mental wellness, and build community through dance and socialization.

An Inclusive Event

Everyone is welcome at this landmark event, which will facilitate interaction and understanding between women from a diverse range of cultures, traditions, and walks of life. Supported by the Birmingham Parks & Recreation Department, UAB Movement-2-Music (limited mobility instructors), Lawson State Community College nursing students, and local vendors, over 250 women are expected to attend the event every first Friday of the month.
