Birmingham Zoo's Glow Wild Brings Holiday Cheer with Enchanting Lights and Entertainment

Birmingham’s Glow Wild Lights Up the Holiday Season

Get ready to celebrate the holidays in a spectacular way, Birmingham! The annual Glow Wild event at the Birmingham Zoo has officially kicked off and is running through January 20, 2025. If you haven’t made plans yet, now’s the time to grab your family and friends and head on over.

What’s New This Year?

This year is going to be extra special as Glow Wild has introduced some new and exciting features. Sponsored by UAB Callahan Eye, the zoo is promising bigger and better lanterns, incredible entertainment, and even adult hot chocolate. That’s right! Now you can enjoy a warm, cozy drink while soaking in the festive atmosphere.

Experience the Magic of Larger-than-Life Lanterns

Picture this: walking through the zoo, surrounded by stunning, larger-than-life animal lanterns. Sounds magical, doesn’t it? Well, that’s exactly what awaits you at Glow Wild! Each area of the zoo is lit up with these beautiful displays, making it a feast for the eyes.

Get Ready for Some Exciting Entertainment

But that’s not all! Prepare to be amazed by daily acrobatic shows happening at 6:00 PM and 7:30 PM. And if you’re lucky, you might just bump into some special guests who’ll be making appearances throughout the event. Every night is bound to be different and exciting!

Hop on the Red Diamond Express Train!

Don’t miss the chance to ride the Red Diamond Express Train, which will be glamorously lit up for the occasion. It’s the perfect way to add a little adventure to your night under the stars. Just remember, the zoo recommends you set aside 90 minutes to fully enjoy everything Glow Wild has to offer—more if you plan to ride the train!

Tempting Treats for Everyone

And let’s not forget about food! The night wouldn’t be complete without a wide selection of delicious food and drinks to keep you fueled for all the fun. You can find everything from warm snacks to a special boozy hot chocolate, perfect to warm your spirits as you stroll the zoo!

Ticket Info You Need to Know

If all this sounds too good to pass up, here’s what you need to know about tickets. If you buy online, tickets are $21.95 for adults and $13.95 for kids aged 2-9. Just a heads-up, tickets are a bit more expensive at the gate, costing $23.95 and $14.95, respectively. It’s smart to snag your tickets early, as online sales close at 4 PM and on-site sales stop at 8 PM.

Important Reminders

Keep in mind that Glow Wild is a weather-dependent event, meaning nights can be subject to cancellation. Also, since it’s an evening affair, make sure you know that the zoo animals will not be viewable during the event—so save your animal viewing for another day!

Join the Fun at Glow Wild

All the festivities happen during select nights until January 20, so don’t miss out! It’s a wonderful way to embrace the holiday spirit with family and friends. To view the full event schedule and purchase tickets, head to the official event website.

So mark your calendar, grab your warmest coat, and get ready to make some magical memories at Birmingham Zoo’s Glow Wild!
