Hallmark Farms in Warrior Set to Become a Massive Tourist Destination
Last year, we had reported that major developments were brewing at Hallmark Farms in Warrior, Alabama. Now, these plans have taken a colossal stride forward. Located on I-65 North, the Hallmark Farms has served as a nucleus for the local community since 1976. Originally a resident for Ted and Mary Hallmark, owners of a renowned coal-mining equipment company, the property has faced challenging times after the founders passed away.
In 2019, thanks to a purchase by the Jefferson County Commission for $7.5M, the mansion has managed to hold its ground. The county’s grand aspirations for the property center around stimulating the economy by making Hallmark Farms a sought-after resort destination. In fact, the design for the revamp of Hallmark Farms has been finalized with construction already underway.
A Glimpse into the Future
The commission, in collaboration with the Alabama Farmers Federation (ALFA), is backing their ambitious plans with a massive budget of $158M. They aim to position Hallmark Farms as one of the prime attractions in Alabama. Among the facilities they plan to introduce are:
- Indoor livestock arena
- Covered Outdoor arena
- Two livestock barns
- Exhibit hall
- Education center
As the construction progresses, further details about these new developments will be unveiled.
New Legislation to Propel the Project forward
Recently, the Alabama legislature passed a bill that could provide an additional boost in terms of funding, planning, and organization. It will also lead to the appointment of board members to supervise the project’s blueprints. In a conversation with Jefferson County Commissioner Joe Knight, he expressed the prospects they hoped to unfold through the development of the site:
“It’s going to be a great place once it’s developed because it will create new jobs, make North Jefferson County have more commercial development and be a great exhibition center. As of now, there is no hard timeline, but we want to get it started as quickly as possible. We’re concentrating on infrastructure such as road, sewer, water, and power.”
We are thrilled to see the transformation of Hallmark Farms and can’t wait to see it become part of Alabama’s tourism tapestry. Stay tuned to our platform for more exciting updates like this. Don’t forget to subscribe to our FREE newsletter today!
