New Refugee Resettlement Group Opens Doors in Hoover, Alabama

The growing city of Hoover, Alabama has welcomed a new addition to its community dedicated to advocating for the welfare of refugees. Birmingham Cross Cultural Connections (BCCC), a new refugee resettlement organization, has recently opened its offices at 2025 Patton Chapel Road, Suite B and is poised to start making a difference in the lives of countless individuals affected by global conflicts.

A Life-Changing Mission

Already serving a number of refugee families, BCCC plans to resettle 120 more individuals by the end of December 2025. As an affiliate of World Relief, a global Christian humanitarian organization that has been resettling refugees in the United States since 1979, BCCC is backed by a well-established and dedicated network of helpers.

BCCC’s mission, according to its Executive Director Katherine Woods, centers on helping refugees of all nationalities “to flourish while finding and living out God’s good design for their lives.” This vision is realized through two primary avenues of service — initiating the resettlement process and providing long-term support to ensure the refugees thrive in their new homes.

Providing Essential Support in Resettlement

BCCC has identified the necessity to extend support to families that have rolled off from other organization’s programs yet remain in need of assistance. Counting at 11 families so far, these individuals will receive their needed support from BCCC, which extends beyond the initial resettlement phase.

The organization provides refugees with personal development classes covering diverse topics such as budgeting and job-hunting. Furthermore, they aid refugees in acquiring their driver’s licenses, getting enrolled in school, and preparing for their citizenship tests. BCCC is poised to help refugees excel at their new life – all with the central goal of equipping them to be self-sufficient.

Welcoming a New Era for Refugees in Hoover

The budding organization will celebrate its official launch with a ribbon-cutting and open house on Friday, Aug. 16, at 11 a.m. This will mark an important milestone for BCCC, the beginning of its journey to reform refugee lives. Locals and enthusiasts of the cause are encouraged to attend, learn more about the organization’s initiatives, and extend their support.

As a new refugee resettlement group in town, BCCC is ready to make a significant impact on the lives of those displaced by regional conflicts. It has been greeted warmly by the community and the local government of Hoover, expressing their shared empathy for refugees and commitment to help them rebuild their lives.
