Birmingham, Alabama – Central Alabama is gearing up to celebrate Independence Day with a variety of events planned for the Fourth of July. The festivities will feature fireworks, food festivals, and live music as part of a total of 13 exciting events highlighted across the greater Birmingham area. Residents and visitors alike are encouraged to partake in the numerous patriotic activities available throughout the day.

Among the featured events, the American Village stands out, offering over 50 activities including music, dance, games, and activities specially designed for children. Attendees will have the unique opportunity to engage with historical figures such as George and Martha Washington and Alexander and Eliza Hamilton, providing a spirited educational experience. An artisan area will showcase various crafts, and food trucks will be on hand to satisfy hunger. Gates open at 11 a.m. on July 4, with programs commencing at 11:15 a.m. and culminating in evening fireworks at 9 p.m. Notably, entry will not be permitted after 8 p.m., and admission is priced at $5, with free access for children aged 4 and under, as well as veterans and active military personnel.

For those looking for water-based fun, Tropic Falls will offer a special ticket promotion for July 4 and 5. The venue features 23 rides and attractions, including a water park with a wave pool and surf simulator, perfect for families seeking to cool off during summer celebrations.

Another highlight of the day will take place at the Lake Martin Amphitheater. Here, The Bank Walkers will perform at 6:30 p.m., followed by Taylor Hicks at 8 p.m. The National Anthem will be sung by Scott Blake at 9 p.m., when a fireworks display lasting about 30 minutes will take place. A second performance by Hicks is scheduled for 9:30 p.m., ensuring a night full of entertainment.

Smith Lake Park will welcome guests for a day filled with live music, arts and crafts, and food, running from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. The park is equipped with extensive camping and recreational facilities, making it a popular destination for families celebrating the holiday.

Prattville will also host a festive atmosphere, featuring a parade, cardboard boat race, barbecue, live music, and a fireworks display launched from the clock tower at 9 p.m. The event will have June Weedon Dorough serving as the Grand Marshal, and ample parking will be available for spectators in the surrounding area.

Those looking for outdoor fun need to check out activities at DeSoto State Park, which will offer a Splish & Splash Pool Party, flag-making contest, and ice cream social on July 5-6. Admission is free, although events are subject to cancellation in the event of inclement weather.

The Red Mountain Fireworks Show will be a highlight for many, bringing joy to communities as it celebrates the nation’s birthday. Scheduled for July 4, the show promises to be a visual feast, with a spectacular display of more than 2,500 shells, choreographed with music from various artists. Fireworks will begin around 9 p.m., and viewers can enjoy the experience live through a broadcast stream as well as tune into various iHeart media radio stations for the fireworks soundtrack.

With numerous events happening throughout the Greater Birmingham area, families and friends are invited to take part in the rich traditions of Independence Day, celebrating American heritage with pride and community spirit.
