  • Eddie Lee Davis, an 84-year-old from Birmingham, who passed away on December 14. He was in the care of Birmingham Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and received support from Aveanna Hospice. Eddie had a previous address on the 2600 block of 6th Avenue North in Birmingham.
  • Cecil Dwight Watts, also from Birmingham, died on December 19 at the age of 75 while living at Civic Center Health and Rehabilitation. Unfortunately, no image of Cecil is available, but he had lived in areas including Adamsville, Forestdale, Hoover, Alabaster, Birmingham, and Bessemer.
  • Kevin Shane Vining, a 46-year-old from Montevallo, also left us on December 19 while under the care of Southern Care Hospice at Princeton Baptist Medical Center. Kevin had previously lived in both Montevallo and Birmingham.

A Continuing Effort

This isn’t the first time the coroner’s office has asked for public assistance. They previously sought help with the case of Matthew Lee Gilmer, a 37-year-old who was found deceased on July 26 under the Elton B. Stephens Expressway. His last known address was in the 100 block of 14th Street North, Birmingham, and he had previously lived in Center Point and Leeds.

Another case includes Lee Campbell Lewis, who passed away on August 1 at the age of 56. Originally from Longview, Texas, he had a long list of past addresses including places in Alabama like Pelham, Hoover, Alabaster, and more.

Additionally, George Alton Walker, found dead on August 2 outside Birmingham Fire Station #1, had a history of multiple addresses in Anniston. They continue to search for connections to his family as well, indicating a thorough and compassionate outreach effort.
