She also served as a Den Mother for Cub Scout Pack 397 and worked as a docent at the Birmingham Museum of Art. One of her notable achievements was leading the Primrose Place 4th of July parades, for which she received an award from the Valley Forge Freedom Foundation.

In addition to her contributions to community service, Helen Snow was predeceased by her husband, Hubert Anderson Snow, Jr., and her sisters, Thelma Pritchett and Carolyn DeShazo. She is survived by her two sons, Dean Snow (married to Elaine) and Gary Snow (married to Kim), both residing in Homewood. Snow’s family also includes several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her grandchildren are Ian Snow (married to Elaine) of Dallas, Andrew Snow (married to Madelyn) of Colorado Springs, Hubert Snow III of Atlanta, and Ashley and Regan Snow, both of Homewood. Her great-grandchildren include Hudson and Evelyn Snow of Colorado Springs. Helen also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

Among her surviving siblings are her sister, Catherine Cofield of Atlanta, her brother, Robert Hassler (married to Pat) of Foley, Alabama, and her brother-in-law, Mike DeShazo of Birmingham.

A visitation and funeral service will be held on January 3rd at Trinity United Methodist Church. The visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by the funeral at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place at Elmwood Cemetery. The service will be officiated by Reverends Reid Crotty and Dr. Andrew Wolfe.

In lieu of flowers, Helen Snow’s family requests that memorial donations be made to Trinity United Methodist Church and The Birmingham Museum of Art, reflecting her enduring commitment to her community and the arts.
