Seeds of Impact Announces 3rd Annual Impact Road Race

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (June 19, 2025) – Seeds of Impact, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing free parent education for moms overcoming addiction and trauma, is pleased to announce a save the date for its 3rd Annual Impact Road Race.

Funds from the race support the continuation of Seeds of Impact’s outreach to offer free parenting education to Birmingham’s under-resourced communities and moms who seek to rebuild relationships with their families post-addiction and/or trauma.

“We’re passionate about parent empowerment and are grateful to our Impact Road Race sponsors and participants who help us advance our outreach,” said Rachel Gunn, CEO and founder of Seeds of Impact.

The event is slated for Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., and will be based at Oak Mountain State Park’s Dogwood Pavilion in Pelham, Alabama.  A USATF-certified event, this timed 5K/10K race will be on a road course and includes a 1-Mile Fun Run.

About Seeds of Impact

Founded in 2022, Seeds of Impact is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Birmingham, Alabama. The primary goals of Seeds of Impact are to foster healthy family relationships by encouraging, educating and empowering parents to step confidently into their parenting roles.

The organization provides support for moms overcoming trauma and addiction through free parenting classes. To date, Seeds of Impact has coordinated 40 free parenting classes, reaching more than 400 parents in the Birmingham region. Every parent attending a Seeds of Impact parenting class receives a free “Impact Parenting” book.

Seeds of Impact’s related curriculum fulfills Alabama Department of Human Resources (DHR) and court-mandated parenting requirements, providing essential support for families in need.

In addition to parenting classes, the organization offers mentoring and parent coaching services.
