Birmingham – A tragic traffic accident on Sunday, April 6, 2025, has claimed the lives of three individuals, including a 6-year-old boy, in a collision on Arkadelphia Road, according to the Birmingham Police Department. The crash occurred around 4:53 p.m. at the intersection with Eighth Terrace West, near the site of the former Birmingham Southern College campus.

In the incident, three people traveling in a Ford Crown Victoria were killed after the vehicle collided with a Chevrolet Traverse. The Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service responded promptly to the crash, transporting four additional injured passengers to local hospitals. However, their conditions have not been disclosed as of yet. At this time, the circumstances that led to the collision are still under investigation by the Birmingham Police Department.

This tragic accident comes just days after another fatal crash in Birmingham. On Friday, April 4, 2025, two men lost their lives in a separate single-vehicle accident on Bessemer Road. The victims have been named as Kendrick Lawayne Robinson, 33, and Michael Anthony Walker, 38. He had to be extricated from the wreckage and was pronounced dead at the scene, while Robinson later died at UAB Hospital from his injuries sustained in the crash. The Birmingham Police Department is also investigating this incident.

Following these events, authorities remind drivers to practice caution while on the road, emphasizing the importance of safe driving habits. As investigations continue into both traffic accidents, community members are mourning the loss of lives and reflecting on the need for greater awareness and safety measures to protect all families on the road.

The community is reeling from these tragedies, and officials are urging residents to support one another as the investigation reveals more details surrounding the incidents. Additional updates are expected as the Birmingham Police Department continues their inquiries into both accidents.
